Trunk Interceptor Sewer

Location: Marysville, OH
Owner: City of Marysville
Completed: December 2008

The Truck Interceptor Sewer Project in Marysville Ohio included the Installation of 13,995 lineal feet of microtunnel and 6,000 lineal feet of open-cut 60” fiberglass (Hobas) piping.  Ground conditions varied extensively throughout the project, but through adjustments in the MTBM design and slurry and separation processes Super Excavators was able to successfully overcome these challenges.   The longest drive on the project was 1,100 lineal feet and we used intermediate jacking stations (IJS) on the drives longer than 750 lineal feet.  The pipeline was installed at depths up to 45’ below the natural water table.  The project included two railroad crossings in which T-Lock lined RCP was installed, and a total of 23 construction work shafts ranging in depth between 25 to 53 vertical feet deep.  To keep disturbance to the surface area and footprints to a minimum, we consolidated our separation equipment on trailers and stacked support equipment.  The project was completed with no claims.
