Sunnydale Auxiliary Sewer Project – San Francisco, CA

As of September 2012, Super Excavators wrapped up work on the Sunnydale Auxiliary Sewer Project – a $44,893,000 project contracted with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC).  The project consisted of 3,070 lineal feet of a 12-ft diameter finished segmented tunnel installed with a Lovat 167 SE EPB TBM.  The project also consisted of 2,010 lineal feet of 85-in Hobas jacking pipe installed with an Akkerman SL90 MTBM.  Sunnydale included many design and construction challenges including an assortment of ground conditions, and various overlying urban infrastructure.  Despite any obstacles, the project was completed on time and on budget – the result is a high quality product that the client, the community, and Super Excavators are all very pleased with.
