On Tuesday, August 20th, our crews along with the help of a 550-ton crane, safely and successfully lowered the 232,000 pound TBM cutterhead down to the bottom of the 175-foot launch shaft. Months of planning go into moving a piece of this magnitude, and the process went smoothly. Once the remaining shields are lowered and assembled behind the cutterhead, we will be ready for mining.
